A never-ending job with 150+ dogs! When each dog has it's turn outside in the run, the kennel it was in is cleaned, mopped, fresh bedding & food & water provided. Mop buckets need to be emptied & refilled (each kennel has it's own mop & bucket to minimize the chance of spreading germs, so there are LOTS of mop buckets), dishes need to be washed. The "common" areas in the kennel building (the aisles where visitors walk, the bathrooms, etc.) all need regular cleaning. There's always trash to be carried to the dumpster. There is a laundry area to wash/dry the dogs' bedding, fold it & put it in the storage area for the kennel techs to pick up fresh bedding. As often as possible we like a group of volunteers to take all the beds out of the dogs' kennels, take them out back & scrub them all down good. Bring some friends & plan to spend the day for this one....it's a big job, but all the dogs get clean beds!
